| ATD-2 Demo to NASA Administrator and NAC Aero Committee September 12, 2018  On August 28 and August 30, 2018, the Airspace Technology Demonstration 2 (ATD-2) team demonstrated ATD-2 system capabilities to the NASA Advisory Council (NAC) Aeronautics Committee and to NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine, respectively, at the FutureFlight Central air traffic control tower simulator at NASA Ames Research Center. Both demonstrations included an overview of the ATD-2 project, demonstrations of data exchange capabilities on the Surface Trajectory Based Operations (STBO) Client and the Ramp Traffic Console (RTC), explanation of the surface metering capabilities, description of benefits observed during the Phase 1 Field Demo at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, plans for Phases 2 and 3, and the ATD-2 technology transfer strategy. Administrator Bridenstine interacted with the ATD-2 system directly, requesting to operate the RTC himself during the data exchange portion of the demonstration.
