ICAO UTM Panel Presentation
December 12, 2017

Dr. Parimal Kopardekar (“PK”), the NASA Senior Technologist for Air Transportation Systems, served as an invited panelist at the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO’s) second Global Air Navigation Industry Symposium (GANIS) in Montreal, Canada on December 12, 2017. Two Unmanned Aviation Systems (UAS) Traffic Management (UTM) panels were hosted at the conference, focused on low altitude operations, and another panel was held on high altitude upper class E airspace (60,000 feet+). Dr. Kopardekar’s panel included participants representing Amazon Prime Air, Thales, Google X, and the Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). Participants showed interest in applying the NASA-developed UTM construct for high altitude operations. (POC: Parimal Kopardekar)
