Data Management Research and Technology Transition (RTT) Team Meeting
February 12, 2016

The Aviation Systems Division hosted the first workshop of the NASA/FAA Data Management RTT on January 25, 2016. Representing the FAA were Natesh Manikoth, Chief Scientist for NAS Software, and Tom Tessitore, who is involved with data archiving and safety studies at the FAA's William J. Hughes Technical Center. Mr. Manikoth and Michelle Eshow of the Aviation Systems Division co-lead the RTT. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss relevant RTT products that could be exchanged between NASA and FAA, including uniform data models, interoperability standards, data sharing, data architecture, and efficient processing algorithms. Six principal investigators from the Aviation Systems Division, the Intelligent Systems Division, and the Human Systems Integration Division presented work with potential relevance to the RTT. Based on the discussions in the workshop, the RTT leads will write a more detailed plan for the RTT going forward. (POC: Michelle Eshow)
