Aviation Systems Division Participation at AIAA Aviation 2013

The Aviation Systems Division made technical presentations and exchanged research and development findings with national and international colleagues at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA)'s Aviation 2013 conference, August 12-14, 2013 in Los Angeles, CA. Over twenty Aviation Systems Division researchers presented papers at the conference, covering research in a number of areas, including Unmanned Aviation Systems, airport surface operations, separation assurance, traffic flow management, arrival and departure integration, scheduling, trajectory prediction, and dynamic airspace configuration. NASA Administrator, Mr. Charles Bolden, gave a keynote address regarding the future of NASA's Aeronautics research and announced the successful NASA-FAA Technology Transfer of the Precision Departure Release Capability (PDRC), which was developed and tested by Division researchers at the NASA North Texas Research Facility (NTX).
