Kathryn Chapman joined NASA Ames Research Center in 2020 as a Research Aerospace Engineer in the Aerospace Simulation Research and Development Branch (SimLabs/Code AFS). Currently she works on the High Density Vertiplex subproject under the Advanced Air Mobility project. Previously she has worked as a Technician at CERN on the ATLAS experiment, as well as an Aerospace Engineer for a space and defense contractor. In this last position she developed operating software to enable multi-vehicle autonomy in space systems.
Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics along with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Mathematics from the University of Chicago. While there she conducted undergraduate research in the field of exoplanet dynamics.
