BIOGRAPHY
Steven Beard

Steven Beard is the branch chief for the Aerospace Simulation Research and Development Branch (SimLabs/Code AFS) at NASA Ames Research Center. He earned his Bachelors and Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from San Jose State University. Mr. Beard joined NASA as a civil servant in 1999 after having previously worked for a local defense contractor and at NASA Ames as a student intern and VMS support contractor. He started out doing machine design for the VMS and later became a simulation engineer working on the Space Shuttle experiments. In addition to being the deputy branch chief, he has been the lab manager and a principal investigator on several experiments at the VMS. Steve is an active member of the AIAA having served as the 2012 General and Co-Technical Chair for the Modeling and Simulation Technologies Conference.
