Trajectory Segments

This graphic shows an aircraft just entering the TRACON airspace
from the northeast on a southwest heading.  A line representing
the aircraft's trajectory extends from the aircraft to the runway.
The landing direction on the runway is to the east.  The first segment
of the aircraft's trajectory, labelled "LONG_LEFT", 
extends southwest from the aircraft to the first turn.  The second
segment of the aircraft's trajectory, labelled "DOWNWIND_LEFT", 
extends to the west from the first turn to the second turn.
The DOWNWIND_LEFT segment is parallel to the runway but is in the
direction opposite to the landing direction.
The third segment, labelled "BASE_LEFT", extends to the south
from the second turn to the third turn.  The final segment,
labelled "FINAL", extends to the east from the third turn
to the runway threshold.
